I had a blog a few years ago dedicated to body positivity, but it was hard to write regularly, in part because blogging is time-consuming, but mostly because I didn’t really believe what I wrote about. I believed in body positivity for others, but couldn’t truly accept myself.
At that point, I still hadn’t gotten the help that I needed to address my eating disorder and start my recovery.
This time is different. This very much feels like a new chapter of my life.
I’m excited to start blogging again, and to invite others in ED recovery to share their stories on this blog. Using my voice is a critical piece of my recovery, and I hope others can find empowerment in using their voices, too.
As I’ve filled my social media feeds with recovery-oriented content, I’ve noticed that there isn’t a lot of diversity in the recovery movement. EDs can affect anyone, regardless of shape, size, weight, race, ethnicity, age, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic status, or geographic location.
This blog aims to share the message that all of us–no matter where we’re from, what we look like, or what we do–are worthy of recovery.
